Today is starting off to be a great day and I might even blog twice today. I got an email saying that a writer from BaltimoreLacrosseNews.com wrote an article about me! I feel so blessed that God has given me the opportunity and the passion to play lacrosse. Here is the link below.

No new college highlights for today but the new nike cleats and jordans that I ordered came in the mail today. Other than that today was another boring day filled with me doing nothing except reading and watching lacrosse highlight videos. Well here is a picture of my new cleats and sneakers.

Today was the most boring day of break. I mean I really did not do a thing all day long. I'm kind of ready to come back to school. Well here is what the lacrosse coach from Hood sent to everyone affiliated to the Hood Lacrosse Program about me.
Hello future Blazers,
Hope you are well and that you are enjoying the winter break.
Here's another quick update for you, and I'll start it off by sharing with you another recruit that has commited.
1-His name is Prosper Odilatu and he is our 4th commitment for 2012. Here is a little on Prosper:
Prosper Odilatu is a 6’0”, 170-lb., midfielder from New Town High School in Owings Mills, Md. He has only been playing lacrosse for four years but because of his speed, agility, and his love for the game he has adapted abnormally quickly to the game. . At New Town, Prosper is a team captain and holds the school record for most points in a season . This summer, Prosper played lacrosse for the Chesapeake Rock lacrosse club. Additionally, in 2011, he was named 1stTeam All-County and 1st Team All-Division. Prosper will also be the first player from New Town High School to play lacrosse at the collegiate level.
Here's a quote from Prosper: ”I chose Hood because of academics and because Coach Mattoon really tried his best to make the recruiting process easier for me. I can really see myself as a student-athlete at Hood College.”
MATTOON: "Prosper is a quality young man from a great family. He is a tremendous athlete and has an extremely high nergy level. He will make an immediate impact on our campus and I am excited to welcome him to Frederick."

I GOT ACCEPTED INTO SUSQUEHANNA UNIVERSITY! This is the 6th school that I have been accepted into and it's also one of the schools that recruited me for lacrosse. I'm so thankful and happy right now.
12/27/11
So this is when Christmas break gets boring. Today I have nothing to do and on top of that it's raining really hard outside. Well I guess this would be a good time to try and read Hamlet. That book is really hard to understand I have no idea what is going on and on top of that I have to write an essay about it.

day after Christmas
This Christmas was one of the best ones that I have ever had. Just being around my family made it so fun. My little cousins are so funny. Well now I'm about to go blow money fast at the PG Mall. I hope evryone's Christmas was as good as mines.
Its Christmas
Well today is going to be a really hectic and busy day so i won't be able to blog much, but I would just like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

Christmas Eve!
Yesterday's basketball game was super chills. College Park beat Radford 61 - 58. I had a really nice time with my family. However today is a new day. Its almost 2012 and I woke up thinking what negative thing in my life I want to make positive in 2012. I'm not sure what I want to change yet but when I find it I pray that I will be able to change.

2 more days til Christmas!!!!
So today I got some more great news. i got my acceptance letter from McDaniel College, and they are offering me 18,000 per year. Also my indoor lacrosse team was able to win our final game of our season and I scored 6 goals! I stayed home from school today because I didn't feel like going but now I regret that decision because that would have been the last time of me being with my AVID family in 2011

Day after my brother's bday
So today I woke up and realized that lately I have had really nonchalant attitude towards school. Especially towards blogging. I'm going to try my hardest to fix that. Also if I don't blog today and my name gets drawn in AVID tomorrow I don't want to lose points for my house. Another reason why I am blogging is because I got some great news today. First Stevenson awarded me with the Dean's Scholarship. Initially Stevenson was only offering me $5,000 a year but since I went up 300 point on my SAT's they now are offering me $12,000 a year. Other good news is that I have one more game left in my indoor lacrosse season. One more game to prove myself. Last game I did not score even thought we won I did not get to feel that great feeling you get when u blow past the defense and fake out the goalie. Last game we won 12-7 and I had 2 assists but this last game will be another story. I WILL SCORE MULTIPLE GOALS AND MY TEAM WILL WIN. If we win we will finish fourth place in our league.

Today was a great day. The lacrosse coach from Hood College called and told me that I was accepted. I am soooo thrilled that I got accepted. Also one of my teachers wife is pregnant! I'm so happy for him and his family. Well now I am about to go do this homework. Shout out to Jordan Quick for getting accepted into like 7 schools. Keep up the good work.

Today was Jessica Spence's birthday. I hope she had a great day. My day was rather dry and mundane. I hate the fact that I have to blog on days like this. NOTHING exciting happened.

STEVENSON UNIVERSITY!!!
I know that I haven't blogged in a couple of days and because of that I have a C in AVID. However I am not here to blog about how tedious blogging can be. I am here to announce that I HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED INTO STEVENSON UNIVERSITY. This is the first acceptance that I have received out of my top 8 schools. I just thank God for allowing me to get accepted. I am so happy.

12/5/11
Today was a very good day and I am thankful to God for blessing me with it. For the past couple classes in AVID we have been having very heated discussions about the importance and the relevance of going to college. I love having class debates because I like to see where my other classmates stand on various views and I like to argue sometimes. However I feel that college is not only about education. The experience of college is much much more. I mean people meet people that help them find careers in the future some people even find their spouses in college. I think people should stop looking at college only from the academic aspect, although it is very important it is not the only aspect of college.

12/3/11
Woke up a little earlier than usual this Saturday morning because I know I have a lot of school work to do. So I checked my email and the lacrosse coach from Hood College said that Hood's Men's Lacrosse program will now be sponsored by Maverick(A TOP LACROSSE BRAND). I'm so excited for play college lacrosse. But he said that he would be closing up his recruiting pool in 6 to 8 weeks and I'm scared that that won't be enough time for me to make the right decision I just pray that God will help me
12/2/11
Today was another cool day. AP Bio is starting to get much more challenging but I believe I can handle it. I'm also excited to say that I actually grasped the concepts that we were learning about in AP Calc. I got a lacrosse again against the best team in the league. I'm soo pumped an ready for this game.

Yeaaaa first day of December. Today was a pretty good day I can't complain. Well I have talked to a couple of the college lacrosse coaches that recruited me and they said that they should be hearing from admissions next week. Hopefully I get some good news. 17 more days until my birthday. I have an indoor lax game tomorrow. After many games of frustration I finally scored last game hopefully I will be able to score more and more.

Today was really dry. I was a little down but after avid my spirits were roused and uplifted after that heated conversation about weather we need college degrees and stuff like that. I really got to start blogging more consistently, I don't want my grade to suffer just because I'm not blogging. Well November is almost over and it's 3 weeks until my birthday and 4 until Christmas and 5 until New Year's!!!!!

AVID Food Rag
White Boys, Donuts, and Lacrosse
The summer of 2011 was the busiest summer that I ever had. I had to juggle Upward Bound’s Math and Science Program, starting my college stuff, preparing for the SAT, my trip to California, and playing Summer Club Lacrosse. However out of all the fun things that I did this summer playing summer lacrosse by far was the most memorable.
I may seem very outgoing and stuff to yal but in reality I am very very shy. On my first practice of summer lacrosse I looked around and saw only 2 black guys. Statistics say that less than 2% blacks play lacrosse. Most of the kids either played at the private school level on in Howard County. All this made me very timid and shy. I was not in my New Town coterie and I was very uncomfortable.
At the end of practice my coach told us that our first tournament would be in New Jersey. The first emotion that came over me was excitement. However that feeling did not last for long, because fear and trepidation immediately followed. I knew that there would be a lot of college scouts and I didn’t want to mess up. I also felt fear because I felt that I did not know my teammates very well so I thought that would affect how we played.
The tournament was that weekend so my uncle drove Donneal and I (a New Town lacrosse teammate, who was also on my summer lax team) down to New Jersey. Our first game of the tournament was scheduled to be 8:00 pm. So we left at 2:00 pm so that we could get to hotel and to the game on time. I always get pre game jitters but I never get them 6 hours in advance!!!
Well after about an hour of driving it started to drizzle. 30 min. later it started to rain. Then once we hit the New Jersey Turnpike it started to pour and then we also hit traffic. We were stuck in traffic for more than 3 hours. Thankfully I got a text from my coach saying that our game was postponed. Unfortunately that did not keep us from getting lost.
While we were driving aimlessly down a street we passed a 7 11. Donneal and I were really hungry. So we asked my uncle to stop at the 7 11. As I walked into the 7 11 the first thing I saw was a huge sign saying “2 DONUTS FOR A 1$.” I was sooo hungry so I bought 6 donuts, a Brisk Lemonade, and some gummy bears. As I went to the register to pay for my stuff; I heard someone yell “aye number 35!” I turned around and saw Tommy (he our team captain). Tommy also had a bag full of donuts; I told him that we were lost and he said we could follow him.
So about an hour later we arrived at the hotel. As soon as I walked into the hotel all my teammates were there to welcome us. After we got settled we all went to the pool.
The next day we win all 3 of our games and I scored one the game winning goals. This tournament was very memorable because I was able to step out of my comfort zone and I was able to bond with my teammates.
The bond that was created between my teammates and I is still very strong months later. We all still keep in touch and some of us might be playing college lacrosse together.

11/16/11
Well today another boring day, but I thank God that nothing bad happened. The school felt really dull and mundane because of how sad the football players were. I feel really sorry for them. Well now I'm bout to go do some homework and get my mind ready for my lacrosse game tomorrow night

11/15/11
Today was a regular day. I got my AP Bio test back and I got a 37 bout of 40 for the multiple choice. I forgot to blog about what happened on Saturday at the black college expo. Well I was accepted into 3 schools and I got full rides to 2 of them. I probably won't go to those schools but it feels really nice to be able to say that I have a full ride.

November 9th
Today was another pretty chills day. Today in AVID we worked on uploading stuff to the wiki, and Ms. Phillips came to talk to us about parallel enrollment. I think that I would be interested in doing it but I'm scared that I wont have the time. Anyway I had another really good practice outside, I'm so excited for my game on Friday. Like I said in my blog tomorrow I do have a video of us shooting around. On second thought today was cool up until Mr. Hopkins class. I HATE THAT CLASS, calculus is hard enough but I feel like every time I come into his class I don't learn anything, so I asked my mother to get me a tutor because I refuse to fail. His class ruined a lot of my fellow AVID 12 family member's GPA and I refuse to have it effect mines.

November 8th
Today was a pretty chills day. school was OK, Dona let me be a tutor in her SAT Prep class which was cool. I'm really hoping that the SAT's that I took last weekend are really good, but right now my focus is on doing really well in second quarter and on lacrosse. Today me Eric Scott and Donneal practiced. Practice was really cool we all got a lot better our lacrosse team should be really good this year. I can't wait til Friday, I have my first indoor lacrosse game that day. Later on this week I will put up a video of me and some guys practicing

New outlook on AVID
I really liked what that man had to say in that TGIM video. I mean if really think about it you can apply it to real life. I'm not a flower person so Ima just get right to the point. I'm going to come to school, to AVID and everything else with a different attitude. I'm going to be much more positive, striving to move things forward instead of backwards.

Last day of october
Man for real today was ok..until I got home. I had lacrosse practice which was fun, but my phone froze up which is really annoying, and the avid wiki is not working so I can't follow everyone. However I got to talk to Lamont today, he seems like a good kid. You know the funny thing is that Lamont and I were about to fight each other last year. But I talked to him and let him know that he come to me about anything.

10/30/11
This blogging every day thing is far from easy. Anyone who is being consistent about blogging, I applaud you. However today was a very nice day. I wen to church, and the ravens won 30 to 27 against the cardinals. That was such a good game. I have pretty much finished everything that deals with applying to colleges, except that Mr. Carney has not given me my letter of recommendation or my essay. I hope and pray I get it tomorrow.

My first letter of Recommendation!!!!
So today was a vey chill day, but I stayed after to do my letter of recommendation. I'm so excited, the deeper I go into the college process the more I feel like a senior. i feels like yesterday when I walked into Ms. Cathirell's AVID 9 class, not knowing a soul. I just thank God for how far he has brought me. I also want to thank tecahers like Dona, because no matter how much of a pain I have been she has never given up on me.

10/24/11
So I'm extra tired from coming home late from VA. It was a nice trip, I got to see my cousins that I haven't seen in a long time. This is the last week in October. The crunch month is almost over and I still have a lot of things to do for college. So I'm going to have to focus really hard in order to get everything done.

10/16/11
I haven't blogged in a couple days, and I can say I kind of miss putting my daily activities down. So today I visited Hood College with my family. We saw their lacrosse play in a tournament and I got t o meet the coach. I like the school and the coach is a really great guy, he seems like he really cares about his students. However I still feel like Goucher is the school for me. Every time I think of college I just picture myself on Goucher's campus. Also the SAT results will be out in 4 days..I'm really scared I hope and pray that I did really well.

I just give God the glory once again for giving me such a great day.

All my classes were chills, except in Ms. Banister class were she gave me a 0 because I turned an assignment 15 minutes late Its like she wants me to fail, and its crazy because I got the highest grade in the class on the assignment. Its OK though now I'm just going to do everything I can to get an A

9/30/11
Today is the day before the biggest test I have ever taken. Truthfully I feel a sense of confidence and readiness, but I am also very very scared. If I don't get the score I need I don't know how I will feel. I'm juts praying to God that he will help achieve my goal on this test.

Well today I'm off. Thank God for this day I off Lord knows I really need it. I have to study for my AP Bio test, I have to do some SAT prep, and October is around the corner and if I want to send out all my applications by November I have to get cracking. Sunday 9/25/11
Today was a very melo and chill day. I went to church and we had our annual harvest festival, which was really nice. Today the ravens fried the rams 30 to 0. However when I was in the city of Baltimore my mind was not only on the ravens. Out of the various schools that recruited me for lacrosse, Giucher College Is at the top of my list. So I was thinking that by this time next year the city of Baltimore will be my new home.

AVID INDUCTION WAS AWESOME. Shout out to Dona and Mr. Carney and the whole AVID site team for making such a great AVID Induction. I really feel like my torch was just re-lit. Now I have the drive and the will to finish my senior year strong.

9/20/2011
All I can say is that God is so awesome. I was walking home today and I just looked up and noticed how beautiful it was outside. Today was pretty good. Applying to colleges is vastly approaching and I'm starting to get stressed about finding scholarships. I wish D3 schools gave scholarships. I also wish someone who played D3 lacrosse could help me. Everyone says there is so much free mney out there. If that is the case how come I can't find any????

Sunday 9/18/2011
Today was pretty mediocre. I went to church with my family and I had a really great time in God's presence. On the other hand the Ravens lost 26 to 13 to the Titans which is really upsetting but I'll get over it when they win next week.

AVID 12's first Socratic Seminar
The Socratic seminars were very productive and successful. I know it was encouraging for Dona and Mr. Carney to see how well the seminar worked. All the groups brought up valid points and views that I did not see. However I still feel that our Socratic seminars need a little more heat. I know it is not supposed to be a debate. On the other hand when Jason and Kennedy went at it, it brought out of them a copious amounts of insightful view points. It also made the outer circle yearn to be a part of the inner circle.

AVID INDUCTION
Prosper have been a part of the AVID coterie for 4 years, and it has been a very hard and arduous journey. AVID has taught Prosper plenty of tips and tricks about how to be successful in a 4 year college. Prosper has been involved in a lot of activities besides school. He was part of the men's soccer team and he is currently a captain of the men's lacrosse team. Prosper is also part of the Male Mentoring Society and National Honors Society. Prosper loves biology so he intends to major in biology and in the end become a physical therapist or a sports doctor. Prosper has been recruited by close to 10 schools to play lacrosse, so hopefully he will be able to fulfill his dream of playing lacrosse in college while getting a quality education at the same time. Prosper knows it is going to be hard balancing school and sports, but he is confident that AVID has prepared him in such a way that he will be successful in both areas.

9/11/11
Today is the 10th anniversary of 9/11. I'm so thankful to God for keeping my father safe that day because his job was not far from there. As for those who were directly affected you have my condolences. However to day is a Sunday and despite the gloominess outside it is a day that the Lord has made and I will rejoice and be glad in it.

9/10/11
So I've just come back from visiting goucher college, and I can honestly say that I Love It. Its in the middle of towson but you still get a sense of tranquility. The lacrosse coach was really nice and the have a new turf field, and to top that all off their lacrosse program is sponsored by NIKE.
9/10/11 Goucher Visit
Today is my first recruiting visit goucher college which is 1 of the 7 seven schools that recruited me. Now I can actually meet the coaches and get a feel for what the campus is like. I'm so excited and still in awe of how I got to this point, i\f you had told me 2 months ago that I would be a recruited to play lacrosse in college I would have laughed at you but through hard work and determination God has blessed me with this opportunity.

Back to School Night
Today was another rainy day. Everyone seemed so dull and melancholy which was kind of boring but I still did what I had to do in class. I stayed after for back to school night which was good because I got free food. However it was nice to go to some of my classes and hear the nice things that my teachers had to say about me to my mother. Those nice compliments have given me the will to continue to do well in school.

My first Blog
I have been having so many problems with this blogger website, but thanks to Mr. Carney's help I think I have finally got the hang of it. Today was a very rainy and dull day. However my AVID 12 class was still very live and I was able to see where I am in the college process. I noticed that even though I have started the college process, I still have a long way to go.
